The Short Version

Key takeaway

The bar chart data entered into the tool never leaves the browser. It's not sent to any server, stored in any database, or shared with anyone. The only data collected here is standard analytics and anything a visitor voluntarily submits through the contact form.

BarGraphCreator is a free, browser-based tool built by Ready Utilities. It doesn't require an account, doesn't collect personal data to function, and doesn't sell anything about visitors to third parties. This policy explains what limited data does get collected, and what doesn't.

If anything here is unclear, the contact page is the right place to ask. This policy is written for real people, not legal teams.

What Is Collected

Here's what gets collected. Nothing beyond this list.

Analytics data

Analytics help understand which pages are useful, which ones aren't, and where things break. The analytics provider is either Google Analytics or Plausible Analytics. Both collect aggregated, anonymized usage data, including:

That data goes toward improving the site. It's not tied to any personally identifiable information, and it's not used for ad targeting on this site.

Contact form submissions

When a visitor sends a message through the contact page, the name, email address, and message content are used only to respond to that message. It's not added to any mailing list, sold, or passed along to third parties. Once the inquiry is resolved, there's no reason to keep it.

Ad network interactions

Some pages, particularly blog posts and editorial content, may show ads through Google AdSense. AdSense may set its own cookies and collect data under Google's privacy policy, which is linked in the third-party section below. The chart tool itself doesn't show ads.

What Is Not Collected

This part matters as much as the previous section. Here's what BarGraphCreator does not collect:

Data collection status at a glance
Data type Collected? Notes
Chart data (labels, values, colors) No Processed entirely in the browser; never sent to a server
Exported images or files No Downloads are generated client-side; no copy is retained
Name or email (unprompted) No No account required; no newsletter sign-up without explicit opt-in
Device fingerprinting No No canvas, font, or hardware fingerprinting is performed
Precise geolocation No The browser's geolocation API is not used
Payment information No The tool is free; no payment processor is used
Page-level analytics Limited Aggregated, anonymized analytics only (see above)
Ad impressions (blog posts only) Yes, via AdSense Google AdSense may collect data per its own policy on blog content pages

Chart data stays in your browser

When a bar graph is created using the tool on the BarGraphCreator homepage, every label, value, color choice, and chart setting is processed entirely inside the visitor's own browser using JavaScript. Nothing gets sent to any external server. That's not a marketing claim; it's just how the tool is built.

There's nothing to breach, nothing to subpoena, and nothing to accidentally expose. None of that data ever leaves the device.

Cookies and Tracking

The bar chart tool itself doesn't set any cookies. A minimal number of cookies may be set by the services below.

Analytics cookies

If Google Analytics (GA4) is active, it sets first-party cookies prefixed with _ga to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. These cookies don't contain personally identifiable information. Google configures the _ga cookie to expire after two years by default, though browser privacy features in Safari, Firefox, and Brave (known as Intelligent Tracking Prevention) commonly cap first-party cookies at around 13 months in practice. For user-level and event-level data, GA4's default retention period is two months; the maximum for standard (free) accounts is 14 months. EU visitors are served a cookie consent notice before any analytics cookies are set, as required by the ePrivacy Directive.

If Plausible Analytics is used instead, no cookies are set at all. Plausible is designed to be cookieless by default.

Advertising cookies

On pages where Google AdSense is active (blog and editorial pages, not the chart tool), Google may set advertising cookies. These fall under Google's own privacy and cookie policies. Visitors with a Google account can manage interest-based ad preferences at adssettings.google.com (opens in a new tab). Visitors without a Google account can opt out through the Digital Advertising Alliance tool at optout.aboutads.info (opens in a new tab).

Managing cookies

All major browsers let visitors view, block, or delete cookies through the browser's settings menu. Blocking cookies won't prevent the chart tool from working; the tool doesn't depend on cookies to function.

Third-Party Services

A small number of third-party services are used. Each is listed below with a link to its own privacy policy.

No personal data is sold to any third party. BarGraphCreator doesn't share personally identifiable information with advertisers, data brokers, or any other organization outside of what's described above.

GDPR (EU Residents)

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives EU residents specific rights over their personal data. Here's how those rights apply to the data described in this policy.

The legal basis for processing each type of data:

EU residents can request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data. They also have the right to restrict processing, to data portability, and to object to processing. For analytics data, note that aggregated and anonymized data typically can't be linked back to a specific individual, so some requests may not be actionable on that subset. For contact form data, a deletion request will be handled promptly.

The full GDPR text is available through EUR-Lex at eur-lex.europa.eu (opens in a new tab), and a plain-English summary is at gdpr.eu (opens in a new tab).

CCPA (California Residents)

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), updated by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives California residents specific rights over personal information collected about them.

California residents have the right to:

BarGraphCreator doesn't sell personal information. The limited data described in this policy isn't sold to anyone. And chart data, as covered throughout this document, isn't collected in the first place.

California residents can submit a request through the contact page. Responses go out within 45 calendar days of receipt, consistent with CCPA requirements. In cases of unusual complexity, that window can be extended to 90 days total, with written notice provided within the original 45-day period.

More information is available from the California Attorney General's office at oag.ca.gov/privacy/ccpa (opens in a new tab).

Data Retention

Data isn't kept any longer than it needs to be.

Your Rights and Deletion Requests

Regardless of location, any visitor can contact BarGraphCreator to:

Requests can be submitted through the contact page. Responses go out within 30 days for general requests. For GDPR requests, the deadline is one month from the date of the request, as required by Article 12 of the GDPR. For CCPA requests, the deadline is 45 days.

Since chart data is never collected, there's no chart data to delete. That's the most honest answer available, and it's an intentional part of how the tool works.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. When it is, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page changes to reflect the revision. Significant changes, like the introduction of new data collection practices, will be called out clearly rather than buried in a revision history.

Continued use of BarGraphCreator after a policy update means the revised policy applies. Anyone who has questions about a change is welcome to ask through the contact page before deciding whether to continue using the site.

Contact

Questions about this privacy policy can go through the contact page. For questions about the tool itself, the about page has background on how and why BarGraphCreator was built.

For matters related to the terms of service, that document covers acceptable use, disclaimers, and liability limits separately from this policy.
